Samsung Fixes Galaxy Note7 Problems As New Sets Arrives US

Samsung has pushed a software update to these devices that will change the battery indicator from white to green so that consumers can easily identify the safe Galaxy Note 7 units.

As Updates have also being pushed to the potentially dangerous Note 7 devices that are still in the wild.

We're not privy to how Samsung is dividing up these units. We did receive a tip from a source today, who claimed to have chatted with a rep for T-Mobile. During the conversation, the T-Mobile rep said that new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 units were in stock starting today.

"Working hand in hand with the CPSC, we are delivering as promised and moving quickly to educate consumers about the recall and make new Note7s available. New devices will be in stores no later than tomorrow and we will continue to take the necessary actions to ensure users are powering down and immediately exchanging recalled devices."-Tim Baxter, president, Samsung Electronics America

Additionally, the software upgrade will provide a visual way for users (and airlines!) to check if a Note 7 is safe or not. With the new software update, a green battery icon will appear on the status bar to prove a Note 7 has a safe battery.
